On any given day, Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. deals in dead bodies and mysterious murders – not exactly uplifting work. (Did we mention he’s also battling a degenerative disease?) That said, here’s hoping Joy Bryant lives up to her name and spreads some love with the news that she’s booked a recurring role on Rosewood.
EW has learned exclusively that Bryant (Parenthood) will play Dr. Erica Kincaid, a cardiologist with a “big and bold personality” who takes Rosewood (Morris Chesnut) on as a brand-new patient. The M.D. is also set to catch his eye as a potential love interest. (Proof that few are immune to Rosewood’s legendary charm, perhaps?)

Bryant will make her debut on the Fox series in an episode airing March 9. The About Last Night actress joins a growing list of guest stars on the freshman medical drama that includes Nicole Ari Parker (Soul Food), Adrian Pasdar (Heroes), Lisa Vidal (Being Mary Jane) and Taye Diggs (Murder in the First, Private Practice). Rosewood’s fall finale airs Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 8/7 C.
