The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 marks the end of the blockbuster franchise, and to celebrate the conclusion Lionsgate and Samsung have released the final edition of Games-inspired fashion magazine Capitol Couture.
Called “Ultima Volatus (“Final Flight”), the mag takes real-world fashion and puts it into the context of Panem and The Hunger Games. The last issue features the combined efforts of creative director Susanne Bartsch, photographer Steven Klein, and supermodel Hannah Davis. Here’s more on Capitol Couture, via press release.
Since its 2012 launch, Capitol Couture has featured lavish fashions from The Capitol. Today’s final issue expands its editorial focus to cover the Revolution happening throughout Panem and introduces the first of three exclusive revolution looks. The first look is heavily influenced by the motion and fluidity of changing times, as well as waving flags, like the mockingjay emblazoned flag used in anti-Capitol propaganda. More looks will be revealed over the next two weeks, drawing from similar revolutionary themes of the people living in Panem.
