Manhattan: Sneak peek at 'World of Tomorrow': Fists fly at the atomic bomb test site

Posted on

If you’re going to build a bomb, you need somewhere to blow it up. But that doesn’t mean a lot of other things don’t blow up first.

In this exclusive clip from Tuesday’s episode of Manhattan, WGN America’s fictionalized drama about the building of the atomic bomb, a rancher has just leveled his shotgun at the head of project leader Charlie Isaacs (Ashley Zukerman) over the government plan to seize his land as a test area.

The previous project leader, Frank Winter (John Benjamin Hickey) has been forced to enlist as a private in the Army in exchange for not being imprisoned for insubordination as he wrestles with whether the bomb should be finished. He saves Isaacs’ skin by suggesting to the rancher that he might squeeze more money out of the feds if he does a survey for silver, oil, or any other precious mineral.

As you can see from this preview of Tuesday night’s show, Isaacs has a funny way of saying thanks for saving his life.
