SNL: Larry David returns as Bernie Sanders for cold open

Posted on

After first showing off his Bernie Sanders impression a few weeks ago, Larry David returned to Studio 8H once again to rant about our nation’s infrastructure and ask for your vacuum pennies.

David, who wrote for Saturday Night Live between 1984 and 1985, returned for the second episode in a row as Sanders, first playing the senator and presidential candidate when Tracy Morgan hosted last month. This time, he sat down opposite Cecily Strong’s Rachel Maddow for the MSNBC Democratic Forum cold open. Taran Killam and Kate McKinnon also made appearances as Martin O’Malley and Hillary Clinton.

David also showed up briefly in Donald Trump’s monologue, interrupting the host to yell, “Trump’s a racist!” before adding, “I heard if I yelled that they’d give me $5,000.”
