Bruce Springsteen’s The River turned 35 last month. To complement the gigantic forthcoming anniversary box set, HBO announced it will air the one-hour behind-the-scenes documentary the box set contains on Nov. 27.
The Ties That Bind gives Springsteen the platform to share his experience in making the double album. He gives the audience and director Thom Zimny the full breakdown on his creative process in crafting some of his most iconic songs, such as “The River” and “Hungry Heart.” The doc will also feature the 66-year-old singer-songwriter playing acoustic versions of tracks and footage from the expansive 140-show The River Tour that covered North America and Europe.
