Rashida Jones comedy Angie Tribeca marathon to air on TBS, plus first trailer

TBS has set the date for the series premiere of Rashida Jones’ police procedural satire Angie Tribeca: Jan. 17.  

The network has also announced the dates for episodes 2 through 10: Jan. 17, Jan. 17, Jan. 17, Jan. 17, Jan. 17, Jan. 18, Jan. 18, Jan. 18 aaaaaaaand Jan. 18.

In an unusual, binge-happy scheduling move, TBS will unveil all ten episodes commercial-free in a 25-hour marathon that begins on Jan. 17 at 9 p.m. ET and concludes Jan. 18 at 10 p.m. ET In total, the first season will air five times during that block. Angie Tribeca also will be available on TBS’ on-demand, digital, and mobile platforms at that time.

Here’s another twist: Viewers will not wait long for more new episodes. TBS has already renewed the show, and will debut the season 2 premiere one week later on Nov. 25. For season 2, though, the network will roll out one episode per week in its regular Monday-at-9:30 p.m. ET time slot.

Created and executive-produced by Steve Carrell and wife Nancy, the cop comedy centers on a group of LAPD detectives who investigate such important cases such as a ventriloquist murder to a string of baker suicides. Parks and Recreation alum Jones plays a detective who is partnered with J Geils (Life As We Know It‘s Hayes MacArthur). The cast also includes Justified‘s Jere Burns as the captain, Black-ish‘s Deon Cole as a detective, and Upright Citizens Brigade‘s Andree Vermeulen as a medical examiner. 

Angie’s first season boasts a line-up of guest stars that includes Bill Murray, Lisa Kudrow, Adam Scott, and Keegan-Michael Key.
