Two new trailers are out for Michael Bay’s movie based on the infamous 2012 terror attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.
The new red band and green band trailers for 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi are heavy on explosive action, but also offer a closer look at John Krasinski’s character — a soldier named Jack. “I haven’t thought about my family once tonight,” he says in the trailer. “Thinking about them now… out here in the middle of all this.”
Bay’s film is based on the acclaimed nonfiction book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi, by Mitchell Zukoff. Released last fall, the book details the assault on the Benghazi compound, which resulted in the deaths of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, two CIA contractors, and about 100 attackers.
Joining Krasinski in 13 Hours are James Badge Dale, Max Martini, Toby Stephens, and Pablo Schreiber. The film is due in theaters Jan. 15, 2016.
