Josh Lucas, Taylor Kinney, Rob Huebel, and Paul Scheer shared their favorite concert experiences with EW — including the time a young Lucas was amazingly apathetic about a free Bruce Springsteen concert.
“I didn’t like Bruce Springsteen, ’cause he was too I guess rock and roll or whatever, and I was into, I don’t know, new age Yaz or something.” Lucas’ father, who was a doctor in an emergency room in Tacoma, Washington, ended up treating a sick Springsteen the day of his show. The singer had a fever of around 103, and he invited the doctor and his family to the show. They watched as he kept dunking his head in ice water to help with the fever.
“He played for almost four hours,” Lucas says, “And I wore a Bruce Springsteen Born in the USA t-shirt to school for the rest of the year.”
