One of the most buzzed-about perfomances coming out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival was Christopher Abbott, last seen in A Most Violent Year, from the film James White, the feature-length debut from Martha Marcy May Marlene producer Josh Mond.

James White tells the story of a man struggling to find himself in the face of his mother becoming seriously ill. Abbott’s performance has already earned major praise, including a Gotham Awards nomination for Best Actor.

You can watch an exclusive clip from the film above. James White opens in limited release on Nov. 13.
