Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Jussie Smollett made a splash at EW Fest on Saturday night, discussing the perils of fame, what’s ahead on their hit show, and a recent fan encounter with a woman using a wheelchair at Target.

“This woman chased us in a wheelchair because of him!” Henson said at the panel, motioning toward Smollett, who had previously said he doesn’t like to hide when going out in public. (Henson described her going-out look as similar to The Unabomber.)

Explained Smollett through laughter: “I was in shock. We were running. This woman was a gangster,” he said. “She was straight-up! I’m saying this in the most loving way, She was dope. She caught up to us, to my car pulling in. I was like ‘Baby, you’re going to hurt yourself.'” The actor said the woman wanted a picture, and he obliged. “She was a gangster. She was like, you’re not going to get away, and we literally did not.”
