When you first come across photographer Carli Davidson’s work in the forthcoming book Shake Cats (which follows her previous work Shake and Shake Puppies), you might wonder, “What did she do to those cats?”
But fear not, animal lovers: Davidson, also an animal rights activist, has a totally simple way to get her subjects to wiggle so… majestically. “It’s more of a grooming process than a waiting game,” Davidson says in a release. “We basically treated the shoot like a mini grooming session with lots of treats and cat cuddles.” When her assistants – professional animal care technicians – clean the cats’ ears, it’s only a matter of time before the felines are shaking it off like pop culture’s favorite cat lady Taylor Swift taught them.
