Leno is back on TV, but this time he’s giving sitcoms a try. The legendary Tonight Show host will be appearing on Tim Allen’s ABC show Last Man Standing as a car aficionado named Joe who annoys Allen’s character, Mike Baxter.

In this sneak peek clip, Joe has just sold Mike a vintage Impala, and invites himself over to lay out his rules for the vehicle and offer some unwanted help fixing it up.

Jay Leno left The Tonight Show nearly two years ago, but has remained active as a touring stand-up and frequent guest on late-night talk shows. He also launched his own CNBC series, Jay Leno’s Garage. In the Last Man Standing clip, we get quite a few jokes referencing Leno’s talk show past — “How can you stand in front of a camera and be funny like that!?” and “I recently retired… for the second time.”

“The Road Less Driven” episode of Last Man Standing will air Friday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
