How to Get Away With Murder: Billy Brown on ‘Skanks Get Shanked’

At this point, it’s safe to say there’s a lot we don’t know about officer Nate Lahey. Hey, the actor behind the How to Get Away With Murder character even thinks so — but more on that later.

On Thursday night’s episode, Nate’s dying wife Nia called Annalise (Viola Davis) to her bedside in hopes of obtaining some pills that will help Mrs. Lahey end her life. She knew about her husband’s affair with Annalise and because of that, told the lawyer it’s the least she could do for the ailing wife of her boyfriend.

The hospital visitation haunted Annalise as she tried to get a teen off for murder —  and she would have too, if it wasn’t for those damn cell phones the kids have these days. The Keating clan did make headway on the Hapstall case, though; Catherine (Amy Okuda) is a virgin, meaning she isn’t sleeping with her half-brother and the term “sibcest” can be put to rest.

As for the mystery at the core of season 2, Connor seems to be growing suspicious of Annalise and her motives, possibly enough to cause her to bleed out on the Hapstall mansion’s floor. We know Nate drives the law students’ getaway car that night and that Michaela (Aja Naomi King) meets up with Caleb (Kendrick Sampson) after getting a call from him that same evening.

Here’s what Billy Brown, who plays Nate, had to say about his character’s big episode and what’s to come for the accused officer:

Favorite moment form Thursday night’s episode: High school’s chick’s flagrant outburst in court.

Favorite moment while filming: Lahey’s high speed, heart pounding car chase reminiscent of Bullet and French Connection; breathtakingly mesmerizing. Hopefully it will be included in our Blu-ray How to Get Away With Murder collector’s edition.

Most jaw-dropping moment: I live it. I’m not afforded the luxuries and pleasures our tremendous audience relishes — such as “jaw dropping moments.” However, amongst many others, I thoroughly enjoyed Annalise schooling Connor.

Most supsicious character and why: Lahey. he knows things.

Teaser for next week: Beware — BOO!

How to Get Away With Muder airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

See which Shondaland deaths were the most devastating for the shows’ stars!
