“You can’t expect to watch your own murder with your Jewish mother and have her be silent. That’s not going to happen.”
Lena Dunham sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and discussed what it was like to be murdered on Scandal… and have her mother react to it.
Kimmel asked the Girls star how she landed the role of Sue on the ABC drama last season.
“I offered myself to Shonda multiple times and then finally there was something that was appropriate for me. Which was this role of a whore who gets murdered,” Dunham said.
Dunham detailed how much fun she had shooting the show, from wearing a tube that spurted blood to being killed by Huck.
Though her father had not seen the episode, Dunham said her mother was distracting during her Scandal viewing party, saying her performance often resembled her character on Girls.
“I was like thank you so much for your feedback,” Dunham told Kimmel. “This is why I invited you over and ordered you this lavish Chinese meal.”
