Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj may have shaken their Twitter tension off when they opened the VMAs, but Swift has a few more things to say about her social media clash with the rapper in July.
In an interview with NME, Swift reflected on her actions and spoke about what she learned after getting caught in the wave of Twitter backlash.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” she explains. “But I send text messages now. If there seems to be some kind of misunderstanding, I go to someone’s management, I get their number and I text them. It’s an important lesson for anyone to learn in 2015.”
At the time, Swift had thought Minaj’s tweets about the VMA nominations were directed at her, but instead Minaj wrote she “didn’t say a word about [Taylor].” The two traded tweets, and Swift publicly apologized to Minaj. “I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki,” she tweeted.
