Norman Reedus can attribute his big break in Hollywood to drinking and yelling at people.
The Walking Dead star appeared on Wednesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show and recounted how he got his start in Hollywood because of one drunken night.
The day began with Reedus going to work, fighting with his boss, and getting fired.
“A friend of mine took me out to a party that night,” Reedus said. “And I drank way too much and started yelling at a bunch of people and then somebody approached me and asked me to be in a play.”

The actor recalled being cast as an understudy in the same play, soon landing the lead part when the “dude didn’t show up.” From there, Reedus booked some more gigs, eventually leading to his current role as Daryl Dixon on the AMC hit.
