Upcoming dramatic comedy The Journey has started production in Belfast, Ireland, and IM Global has released a first look at Timothy Spall and Colm Meaney as Northern Irish political enemies turned close friends.

Spall stars as Ian Paisley, a political and religious leader in Northern Ireland who, after facing off against Northern Ireland deputy first minister Martin McGuinness (Meaney) for years, forged an unlikely friendship with his formerly sworn enemy. Because of their unlikely friendship, the British and Irish media nicknamed them “The Chuckle Brothers.”

Directed by Nick Hamm and written by Colin Bateman, The Journey also stars Toby Stephens as Prime Minister Tony Blair, Freddie Highmore as Paisley and McGuinness’ driver, Jack, and John Hurt as a veteran political fixer named Harry.
