Stephen Colbert made his best effort to break into the Chinese marketplace on Tuesday night’s episode of The Late Show.
After learning that The Martian will be opening in China due to its substantial opening and pro-Chinese space program plot points, Colbert realized he had to get the Chinese government to allow him into their market.
So the host premiered “Stephen Colbert’s Pander Express,” the “long-running first attempt to suck up to the Chinese censors.”

Colbert then proceeded to honor China’s cultural contributions including movable block type, gun powder, and spicy and tingly lamb’s face salad.
He even spoke directly to Chinese millennials: “ ‘Sup guys? Parents, am I right? They truly deserve our reverence.”
