Bjork Vulnicura to be remade with orchestra

Posted on

Fans of Bjork and her newest record will have the chance to experience it in a new way. The singer announced, via her website’s store, that she will release Vulnicura Strings (also tabbed Vulnicura: The Acoustic Version). The album will be released digitally and on CD on Nov. 6 and on vinyl on Dec. 4.

An exciting thing about Bjork’s fresh take? It boasts, per her website, the world’s only viola organista, a Leonardo da Vinci-designed instrument. It “uses a friction belt to vibrate individual strings (similar to a violin), with the strings selected by pressing keys on the keyboard (similar to an organ).”
