SNL: Miley Cyrus performance had singer in tears

Miley Cyrus performed double duty on the season 41 opener of Saturday Night Live, serving as the episode’s host and musical guest.

The second of those two performances — a rendition of “The Twinkle Song” — began with Cyrus sitting at a piano decorated with feathers, streamers, and framed photos of her late pets, and ended with the singer in tears.

Cyrus was trying not to cry as the song went on, but before the ballad’s final verse she became overwhelmed and tears could be seen on her cheeks as she finished the powerful performance.


Earlier in the SNL telecast, she performed another song from her recent surprise album  Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz. You can see her sing “Karen Don’t Be Sad” in the video below.
