[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Wednesday’s episode of Survivor: Cambodia—Second Chance.]
Jeff Varner is either a crazy person or a crazy good Survivor player. He may be both. One day after flipping on his old school alliance to join Spencer and Shirin on Team New School, Varner flipped back, saying he voted against his first alliance merely to wake them up. Huh?
But here’s the craziest part of all: It actually worked. When Abi was left all by her lonesome after getting into a fight with Peih-Gee, Terry came down to console her and left with both her thanks and her vote. Then Varner flipped Peih-Gee and Kelley Wentworth, leaving Spencer and Shirin all alone, and Shirin on the losing end of the next vote and the second casualty of the season.
It was a stunning reversal, with Varner shaking up the game twice only six days into the season. Elsewhere, the folks at Bayon were unable to find their hidden immunity idol clue, meaning no idol was hidden at the challenge, but you can see right here where producers were planning to put it. And Stephen Fishbach still appeared to be on the outs as he wondered aloud if a teary Jeremy was actually off searching for the idol.

While Fishbach may be in trouble now, that could all change next week as the preview showed that the two tribes are actually about to expand out to three different teams. That means those currently on the bottom (like Stephen and Spencer) could suddenly find themselves as key pieces depending on what buffs they pull.
