Tyler Oakley is going from YouTube to the big screen as the subject of a documentary. The upcoming Snervous Tyler Oakley will cover Oakley’s life and career as a digital icon, Awesomeness Films announced Wednesday.
Directed by Amy Rice (By the People: The Election of Barack Obama), the documentary follows Oakley on his sold out international Slumber Party tour across the U.S., U.K., and Ireland. As one of the biggest social media stars today, Oakley’s no stranger to sharing his life online, but the documentary promises even more intimate looks into his relationship with his family and followers.
“I feel so lucky to partner with Awesomeness to bring my story to the big screen,” Oakley said in a statement. “I started out making videos as a way to connect and am thrilled by the opportunity to share one of the most exhilarating years of my life.”
