Stephen Colbert: Michelle Obama addresses post-White House plans

Posted on

CBS

Michelle Obama appeared on Monday’s episode of The Late Show and discussed her post-White House plans with Stephen Colbert, which include focusing on girls’ education and some minor manual labor.

“I also want to do little things like, you know, open a window,” Obama told Colbert.

While her position as first lady allows her a certain amount of influence and power, Obama says she craves the mundane tasks her security clearance does not allow: the aforementioned windows, driving cars, and going to Target. In fact, Obama admitted she was once able to open her car window “as a treat.”

“My lead agent let me have the windows open on the way to Camp David,” Obama said. “It was like five minutes out and he was like ‘the window’s open. Enjoy it!’ I was like, ‘thanks Allen.’”

Colbert did promise Obama a canister of fresh air if she needed it.
