In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Rage Against The Machine bassist Tim Commerford is apologizing for Limp Bizkit’s, uh, existence.

“I do apologize for Limp Bizkit. “I really do,” he says. “I feel really bad that we inspired such bullsh-t. They’re gone though…That’s the beautiful thing. There’s only one left, and that’s Rage, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re the only one that matters.” (Limp Bizkit still tours extensively.)

Fred Durst and Co. have not hid their affection for their rap-rock predecessors. They routinely cover “Killing in the Name” live and Durst has often waxed poetic on how Rage’s music changed his life. He has not yet responded to the comments.
