The kids are digging CBS’ new late-night star.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert won premiere week in adults 18-34, and managed to tie The Tonight Show in adults 18-49 and 25-54, according to Nielsen ratings.
Results of the live plus 7-day ratings also reveal that Colbert picked up another 1.6 million viewers from DVR users who waited to check out the new man at the Late Show desk. The CBS talkfest beat The Tonight Show in eyeballs by 1.21 million and eeked out a win in the younger demo (1.1 rating vs. a .09) for the week ending Sept. 11.
Each 18-34 rating point represents 681,300 people.
