UPDATE: Fetty Wap posted an Instagram video Sunday thanking fans for their support after the accident.
“Appreciate all my fans for praying for me,” he says in the post. “Had a little accident, but I’m straight. I broke my leg in three places, but I’m gonna be aight. I really appreciate y’all, for real, though.”
The original story is below.
Fetty Wap has been issued three summonses, including one for driving without a license, after being injured in a motorcycle crash in New Jersey on Saturday.
The 25-year-old was also cited for not having insurance and failing to produce a vehicle registration card, Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale told the Associated Press.
Wap was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car in his hometown of Paterson, police said. The woman driving the car was also hurt, the AP reports.
A spokesperson for the “Trap Queen” rapper, born Willie Maxwell, said Saturday that he was in stable condition and being treated at a local hospital.
The accident came a day after the release of his debut album, Fetty Wap.
