This will be Bareilles’ fifth studio album, and her first since releasing 2013’s The Blessed Unrest. “I fell more deeply in love with the writing of the musical Waitress than I had ever imagined,” Bareilles said in a press release. “It proved impossible for me to imagine handing over the songs to the show before selfishly finding a way to sing them myself.”
The album — titled What’s Inside: Songs from Waitress — arrives Nov. 6 and the first single, “She Used to Be Mine” will be available Sept. 25. The show, which is currently playing at Cambridge’s American Repertory Theater until Sept. 27, makes its Broadway debut April 2016.
