  • The distribution of Williams’ Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington‘s new spy thriller has been settled. Saban Films bought the North American distribution rights for MI-5. • The villain role for Jack Reacher 2 has been filled. The Tom Cruise-led sequel of the 2012 film adds Patrick Heusinger (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce) as the primary antagonist. (Danika Yarosh was cast as Cruise’s on-screen daughter last week.) Directed by Ed Zwick, the film adapts Never Go Back, the 18th book in Lee Child’s series. [Variety]
  • Michael Shannon and Nick Kroll are the latest additions to Jeff Nichols’ new drama Loving. They are joining Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga, who star as real-life interracial couple Richard and Mildred Loving, who were arrested in the 1950s for breaking a Virginia law banning interracial marriage. Kroll will play Bernie Cohen, one of the Lovings’ lawyers, and Shannon is tapped to portray photographer Grey Villet, who snapped influential photos of the Loving family. Jon Bass, Marton Csokas, and Bill Camp have also been cast. Shooting is underway in Virginia. [The Wrap]
  • Girls actor Alex Karpovsky is in talks to star in Claire. The plot is based on 20-something woman (Jena Malone) with unique tastes. After becoming annoyed with her married lover, she chooses to get hitched to a relative stranger (Karpovsky). It’s director Dori Oskowitz‘s feature film debut off Juan Iglesias and Jonathan Saba‘s script, based on a 1982 French comedy, Le Beau Mariage. [Deadline]
