Gay A Nightmare on Elm Street 2? New documentary to explore homoerotic subtext

Posted on

The 1985 horror sequel A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is routinely described — non-pejoratively — as one of the gayest horror films ever made. Now, Mark Patton, who played the film’s hero Jesse Walsh, is set to appear in a crowdfunded documentary called Scream, Queen!: My Nightmare on Elm Street. The movie will explore the purported homoerotic subtext contained in Freddy Krueger’s second big screen outing (no pun intended) and the ways in which the movie affected both Patton and the larger gay community.

You can learn more about Scream, Queen! at the documentary’s Kickstarter page or by checking out the crowdfunding trailer below.
