Jane Got a Gun, the oft-troubled indie western starring Natalie Portman, is back in the saddle.
The Weinstein Co. has completed a deal to release the film in February in the U.S., EW has confirmed. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
Weinstein was originally set to market Jane, with Relativity Studios handling domestic distribution. The film had been scheduled to open Sept. 4, but Relativity filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July, throwing the fates of its films into doubt.
Attorney David Boies, who has a long history with TWC, managed to disentangle Jane Got a Gun from Relativity just before the filing.
The film, which is directed by Gavin O’Connor and also stars Ewan McGregor and Noah Emmerich, will be released in Europe in November.
