Los Angeles' 2024 Olympics commercial: See the first TV spot

Posted on

The campaign for Los Angeles to host the 2024 Summer Olympics is officially underway. After being chosen as the U.S. city up for the bid, the LA2024 campaign launched, and with it came its first video spot.

Featuring Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up,” the clip shows the city’s skyline, beaches, and people. “A city made of 100 nations, thousands of startups, and 18 million hard-dreaming people working to reinvent the city,” the spot says in written text. “Sunrise after sunrise, athletes, storytellers, innovators working to achieve their dreams. Welcome to the new L.A.”

The International Olympic Committee will vote for the host city in 2017, and Los Angeles will be up against Budapest, Hamburg, Paris, Rome, and possibly Toronto.
