Digging for Fire star Jake Johnson remembers his childhood gambling phase

Posted on

In his latest indie flick, Digging for Fire, Jake Johnson plays a husband who finds himself on an adventure after uncovering a bone and a gun buried in the backyard. While Johnson shared some insight into the film last month with EW, the actor opened up about his childhood, his uncle Eddie, and gambling for EW’s Greatest Story Ever Told video series.

In this clip, the New Girl star remembers his uncle moving in and shaking things up, as he was more of a “hustler” and “con man” than he was used to dealing with. At 15 years old, his uncle had him set up a little gambling pool – and Johnson was convinced the cops would come to arrest him. For the full narrative, check out the video above.

Digging for Fire is in theaters and VOD now.
