Halo 5 opening cutscene includes Nathan Fillion, Mike Colter

Posted on

Halo 5: Guardians may continue Master Chief’s story from Halo 4, but it doesn’t begin with the exploits of the universe’s most famous spartan. Instead, it begins with the man looking for him, Jameson Locke, and his team.

Xbox has unveiled the opening cinematic for Halo 5, which showcases Locke (played by Mike Colter) and his team — which includes returning fan-favorite Nathan Fillion as Edward Buck from Halo 3: ODST — dropping into battle on a mission. Watch the scene above to see the epic battle unfold, as well as get a sense for how the team plays off one another on and off the field.

Halo 5: Guardians will hit the Xbox One on Oct. 27.
