A fourth-grade teacher Kanye-fied his classroom

Welcome to the good life.

Adrian Perez

Forget the teacher who recently turned her classroom into a Harry Potter paradise: Fourth-grade teacher Adrian Perez is welcoming his students back from summer break with a classroom decked out in all things Kanye West.

“I teach my students to dive deeper in their thought process, and to use real world connections, and to think outside of the box,” Perez wrote in an email to EW. “If I teach my students to do this, I should do it myself.”

Perez, who teaches at McCabe Elementary School in Mendota, California, tricked out his room with Kanye imagery and (G-rated) lyrics to motivate his students. It took him an entire month to construct his classroom, from the door welcoming his students to the “Good Life” to the wall encouraging them to become fearless “Math Monsters.”

“I am trying to be the Kanye West of teaching,” Perez said. “Kanye West is the best at what he does, and I want to be the best as what I do.”
