Reality TV personality Tobias Strebel, who went by Toby Sheldon, has died, his reps confirmed to EW. He was 35.
TMZ reported that Strebel was found Friday in a Motel 6 room in Los Angeles, three days after he was reported missing.
In 2014, Strebel appeared on My Strange Addiction and talked about the many surgical procedures he underwent — including hair transplants, lip surgery, and a chin reduction — to look like pop star Justin Bieber. In an interview with Inside Edition in September, he said he had spent “well over $100,000” on a dozen or so surgeries.
He also visited talk shows like Bethenny and The Doctors to talk about his transformation.
Like Bieber, Strebel wrote and recorded his own music and was shown in the recording studio in a July 2014 episode of Botched. “The gift of writing music is not something you can learn. You can have to have that inner creativity; you have to have something to say. You have to be lyrically gifted,” he said at the time. “You have to know what’s catchy. It’s just something I’ve come to master.”
