Carly Rae Jepsen celebrated her new album with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Posted on

Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album E•MO•TION dropped Aug. 21, and Monday night, she celebrated its release with a special show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. While she was there, she took over EW’s Instagram, shared a few backstage photos, and highlighted some of the surprise guests in attendance — including Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

Hanks, who stars in Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” video, stopped by backstage with his wife, as did Lorde and Ariel Rechsthaid, who worked on two songs on her album, “All That” and “When I Needed You.” “Show was so fun,” Jepsen wrote on Instagram afterward. “Crowd was fire. I’m not going to sleep tonight. Thank you!!”
