Are You the One? season 3 gets a premiere date, new twist

Posted on

MTV

When MTV’s Are You the One? returns for its third season, things are going to be a little different. Yes, there will still be 10 single men and 10 single women who will spend the season trying to find their perfect match in order to take home $1 million as a group. But there’s more …

EW can exclusively reveal the show’s latest twist: If at any point during the weekly matchup ceremonies the singles fail to make at least one true match (known in the game as a blackout), the group will lose $250,000. In other words, four blackouts means there’s no jackpot.

Additionally, EW can share the first cast photo for the season, which includes a woman who swims with sharks, a man who’s 6’8″, a diving instructor, two waitresses, two bartenders, two personal trainers, one dancer, three entrepreneurs, and more. Oh, and there’s at least one guy who enjoys “organizing threesomes through Tinder,” so, there’s that.

All of this will come together when Are You the One? premieres on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 11 p.m. ET on MTV before moving to its regular time on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET beginning Wednesday, Sept. 30.
