The iconic Moonman, awarded by MTV to winners at its annual Video Music Awards, has received a snazzy redesign courtesy of esteemed designer Jeremy Scott. The new statue, which MTV revealed Monday, splashes the previous monochromatic silver with flourishes of color and even decks the astronaut out with a peace sign a pair of Scott’s signature sneakers.

According to a press release from MTV, Scott’s Moonman “was created exclusively for this year’s show” and “will encapsulate the true iconic essence of both the fashion designer and the network […] the redesign of statue is part of MTV’s long-standing history of bridging the gap between the world of fashion and music.”

Scott also has a working relationship with this year’s VMAs host, Miley Cyrus, who he collaborated with for New York Fashion Week 2014. The Moonman last received a refresh in 2013, by the artist KAWS.

This year’s edition of the show airs Sunday, August 30 at 9 p.m. on MTV. Check out a full list of nominees here.
