Tony Lara, a ship captain who appeared on Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, died in Sturgis, South Dakota, on Saturday. He was 50.

Police told the Associated Press that Lara died at a private home in Sturgis during the town’s annual motorcycle rally, and Meade County Sheriff Ron Merwin told EW that according to preliminary autopsy results, Lara died of an apparent heart attack. A toxicology report is also pending.

Lara appeared in six episodes of Deadliest Catch as the captain of the crab-fishing ship Cornelia Marie. The Cornelia Marie’s former captain, Phil Harris, passed away after suffering a stroke in 2010.
