UPDATE 09/08: Esquire has announced that Spotless will premiere Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10 p.m. ET.
EARLIER: There’s no shortage of crime scenes on TV, but what happens when someone has to actually clean up those areas once the investigation is complete? In comes Jean Bastiere, the head of Jean’s Crime Scene Cleaning company, whose tumultuous life is at the center of Esquire Network’s first scripted series Spotless.
Check out the exclusive trailer for Spotless above, in which Jean (Marc-André Grondin), who attempts to lead a normal and peaceful life, faces upheaval when his brother Martin (Denis Ménochet) enters the picture. Jean and his wife Julie’s (Miranda Raison) lives are thrown for a loop as Jean and Martin are caught in a mix of mob members, drugs, and, naturally, death. Downton Abbey‘s Brendan Coyle also stars.
“Spotless is a genre bending drama offering a tonality that’s unique to the current television landscape,” Esquire’s head of original programming Matt Hanna said. “Perfectly on point for our discerning male audience, it promises to take them on a twisted dark ride.”
The London-set series originally aired on Canal+, where a second season has been ordered on top of the original 10-part first season premiering on Esquire this fall. Esquire has not yet committed to airing a second season.
