Fans have waited 16 years for a new Dr. Dre album, but the hiatus will end this week — and sooner than anticipated. On Tuesday, Apple Music announced that it would stream Dre’s new album, Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre, on Thursday, one day before its scheduled release date.

Dre first announced the album on his Beats 1 radio show Saturday, and spoke about making record, which is the soundtrack to the film Straight Outta Compton. “I was leaving the set, going to the studio, and I felt myself just being so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album,” Dre said. “I kept it under wraps, and now the album is finished. It’s an ‘inspired-by’ album, it’s inspired by Straight Outta Compton.”
