First Hollywood came for our Legos, and we were pleasantly surprised with the result. Then they came for our emoji, and their fate remains up in the air. And now, they’ve come for our candy as well.

Envision Media Arts announced the development of an animated movie based on Pez Candy dispensers, written by Cameron Fay (Brother in Law).

Pez, the tiny pieces of candy, are more popular for the way they’re packaged than their actual flavor, as dispensers are often topped with famous character heads from which the candy pops out. (It’s a perfect opportunity to recreate the original X-Men moment between Wolverine and Rogue in which she wonders whether his claws injure him when they pop out, trading in adamantium claws coming out of a human Wolverine’s hands for Pez candies appearing out of a dispenser Wolverine’s neck.)

There’s no word on what the plot of the film will be or whether it will focus on original characters or an ensemble of licensed names, as The Lego Movie mixed together. Currently licensed lines by Pez include Minions, Mickey Mouse, My Little Pony, and Transformers.
