Chief Keef, the 19-year-old rapper at the forefront of Chicago’s drill scene, has released a new mixtape two weeks ahead of its previously announced Aug. 18 street date. Called Bang 3, it’s Keef’s third mixtape since October 2014. He also put out a full-length LP, Nobody, in December.

Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, has had an eventful year beyond his prolific studio output. In July, he organized a benefit concert to be held in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood to honor his peer Capo, who was killed in a likely drive-by shooting. After City Hall claimed the show “posed a significant public safety risk,” it was moved to Hammond, Indiana. The event, named Craze Fest, hosted a number of performers on July 25, but was shut down by police minutes after a holographic Keef took the stage for the headlining set. Since then, Keef has challenged Chicago’s mayor Rahm Emanuel via Twitter, distributing the politician’s phone number and suggesting he’ll run for mayor himself.
