Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio premieres solo-project single 'Endless Rhythm'

Posted on

Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio makes dance music under the same name he uses for his DJ sets — Baio.

His three-track solo EP Sunburn, released in 2012, twinkled with rare, hopeful-yet-melancholic magic. In 2013 he dropped another EP, Mira, and (finally) in April of this year he announced a fall 2015-anticipated, electro-pop full length under the same dance-and-DJ moniker titled The Names (titled after Don DeLillo’s 1982 novel).

EW is exclusively premiering a particularly Bowie-influenced tune off the album today. “Endless Rhythm” is streaming below. Baio has previously shared the moody snapper “Brainwash yyrr Face” and the ’80s-whimsy “Sister of Pearl.”

The Names is due to release Sept. 18 via Glassnote.
