Wet Hot American Summer: Camp Firewood and more fictional summer camps we wish we could attend

Posted on

The mark of any good summer camp — whether it has a pool or a lake, Capture the Flag or Color War — is if campers can’t wait to come back again after the season comes to an end.

By that standard, Wet Hot American Summer’s Camp Firewood is a resounding success. But instead of campers and counselors counting down the days until summer comes back, fans have had to patiently wait 14 years for the original cast members to reunite for the Netflix prequel, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp (out Friday).

Firewood isn’t the only fictional camp that would have fans lining up to bunk up, though. Take the one from The Parent Trap (activities include: learning secret handshakes with Lindsay Lohans), or Camp Anawana from Salute Your Shorts (You know you know it, so sing it with us — “We run, we jump, we swim and play….”)

Read on for those and more camps from movies and TV shows where we wish we could spend the summer.  S’mores optional, but highly encouraged.
