Esther Jenner displayed some initial reservations upon meeting Caitlyn Jenner for the first time on the premiere of I Am Cait. But the show left the pair’s relationship in a good place. “I loved him with all my heart, and I certainly love her with all my heart,” Esther said of Caitlyn, who came out as transgender in April and made her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair in June.
Now, in a bonus clip from the I Am Cait premiere released by E!, it sounds as if Esther is learning more and more about the transgender community.
Caitlyn, her sister, Pam, and Esther met with gender counselor Susan P. Landon in the deleted scene. When Pam asks if recent exposure to the topic has aided progress the conversation about transgender people, Landon affirmed: “It has certainly helped.”
“It seems as though when people start to have more understanding, the stigma of being different goes away,” Esther says.
