James Franco must be busy studying the Torah, because pal Seth Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, are throwing him a bar mitzvah this fall in Los Angeles — and you can attend.
Through Hilarity for Charity, which the Rogens established to promote awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, Franco will get his bar mitzvah-slash-variety show on Oct. 17 at the Hollywood Palladium.
Invitations Tickets go on sale Aug. 11.
“Ever since I’ve known James, he’s been talking about wanting a bar mitzvah,” Seth Rogen said in a statement to Variety, which first reported the news. “We’re excited to see him finally become a man while also helping us raise awareness and funds for people living with Alzheimer’s and towards research that will lead to a cure. And in celebration we’ll also have a mohel and a live bris for James at the event.”
Past performers at Hilarity for Charity have included: Paul Rudd, Bruno Mars, Tenacious D, Patton Oswalt, Aziz Ansari, Judd Apatow, The Backstreet Boys, Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Silverman, and “Weird Al” Yankovic. This year’s lineup, for the fourth annual event, has not yet been released.
