Much like its hordes of undead ghouls, the Resident Evil horror franchise just refuses to die. Last year, the series’ sixth entry, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, was delayed due to the pregnancy of star Milla Jovovich. But today the actress posted on Instagram a photo of herself getting a face cast and announced she was about to leave for South Africa to start prepping for what may — or may not! — be the final film in the hugely successful zombie franchise.
Well, the moment so many of you have been waiting for is finally here where I can tell you that it's zombie killing season for the Jovovich-Anderson clan! Here I am getting my face cast made for "resident evil: the final chapter"!! I leave to South Africa tomorrow to start prepping for the movie! #residentevilmovie #ladiary
The previous Resident Evil installment — Resident Evil: Retribution — was released in 2012 and grossed a remarkable $240 million worldwide. The new film will be directed by Jovovich’s husband Paul W.S. Anderson, whose credits include 1997’s Event Horizon, 2008’s Death Race, and three of the previous Resident Evil movies.
