Madeleine Albright on Madam Secretary: Former Secretary of State guest-starring on Tea Leoni CBS drama

Posted on

Madam Secretary is borrowing a real-life Secretary.

The CBS drama starring Tea Leoni as Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord has cast former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright for an upcoming episode, the network announced Tuesday.

Albright — who served from 1997 to 2001 as our country’s first female Secretary of State — will play herself and offer her counsel to Elizabeth on a tricky situation with National Security Advisor Craig Sterling (guest star Julian Acosta) that could damage her relationship with President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine).

This is Albright’s second guest spot on a prime-time entertainment series. Earlier this year, she popped up briefly in a scene with Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope during the final season of Parks and Recreation

Here is her tweet from the set of Madam Secretary on Tuesday morning:

Season 2 of Madam Secretary debuts Oct. 4.
