Phil Lord and Christopher Miller recently dropped out, and the film is currently looking for a director. [The Hollywood Reporter]
  • Dan Fogler will join Eddie Redmayne, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Katherine Waterston on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the much-anticipated Harry Potter spinoff about “magizoologist” Newt Scamander (Redmayne). J.K. Rowling adapted her own book into a script from which David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter films, will direct. [Deadline]
  • Finn Wittrock has joined the cast of Damien Chazelle’s La La Land, which will star Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, and J.K. Simmons. The LA-set musical film from the Whiplash writer-director is about the romance between an actress and a musician, and the obstacles their relationship faces as their careers progress.
